What Is KindShare? Free Local Sharing for Newport Beach & Orange County
KindShare is a free community platform for neighbors in Newport Beach and Orange County to give away items, borrow tools, share skills and volunteer — no money, no fees.
Most of what we own sits unused. Most of what we need, a neighbor already has. KindShare exists to connect the two — freely, locally, and without a cent changing hands.
KindShare is a free community platform for Newport Beach and the wider Orange County, built by Kindness Community Foundation (KCF LLC). It brings together the four ways neighbors have always helped each other, in one place.
The four ways to share
- Give — pass on an item you no longer need to a neighbor who does. Give something away.
- Find — browse free items, from furniture to kids' books, shared by people nearby. See what's free.
- Borrow — use a drill, a ladder or a pressure washer for the weekend instead of buying one. Borrow tools.
- Share a skill or an hour — teach what you know, or lend some time to a neighbor who needs a hand. Share a skill · Volunteer.
What makes it different
KindShare is a community service, not a marketplace. Nothing is bought or sold. There are no fees, no ads, and your data is never sold. When your neighbor *sells* you their ladder, you're customers to each other. When they *lend* it, you're neighbors — and something small but real has started between you.
How it works
- Join free — Google sign-in or an email code, no password.
- List something you can share, or browse what's nearby.
- Message through KindShare to arrange a simple doorstep handover.
We're just getting started
KindShare has just launched in Orange County, so the first neighbors to join shape what it becomes. If you'd rather start by receiving, that's welcome too — asking for help is how the circle keeps turning.
